The Virtual Architect

Blue Waves was film created for marketing an innovative office building designed by Pilot Arkitekter to a large Norwegian IT company. I designed the virtual locations in the film that depicted a future holographic design environment for architects and co-wrote the script for the film.

A simplified 3d model of the architectural combined rendered as a hologram and a fictional gesture language allowed the architect in the film to design the building. The user interface was inspired by g-speak created by science adviser and inventor John Underkoffler as seen in Minority Report.

A seemingly real room was created to allow for the architect to launch or "start" the building from it's virtual incubation into the world of brick and mortar. Slightly inspired by Tron.
