Using a depth-sensor and the HoloCap volumetric video platform, we captured the performance in real-time of an actor in viking costume in a small studio at Kulturtanken.

Blending the volumetric video capture into the Unity based scene was made easy much thanks to how the volumetric video from HoloCap is a regular 3D (or 4D) Unity asset.

Collaborative effort with many possibilities

Volumetric videos - “holograms” - fused with realistic digital sets and immersive technologies have many use cases, including museum installations and tutorials. This prototype was a collaboration between the Art Lab at Kulturtanken, Tidvis created the scene with the viking boathouses at Veoya, and HoloCap, provided the volumetric video technology.
